Junior Product Developer Food

Creating better understanding of functionality of beer grain and supporting in expanding the beer grain-based products.

Till at least the end of this year (2022), you will focus in this role you will focus on supporting in:

  • Understanding functional properties and ingredient interactions related to beer grain;

  • Designing and testing beer grain-based products to be produced at scale, e.g. pastry, cereal bars and crackers;

  • Staying in close contact with industrial producers on the products you have designed, to understand their findings and advise on application of our beer grain;

  • Looking for opportunities to expand our product portfolio based on the properties of the beer grain.

Your profile:

  • Recent graduate (0-2 years of working experience) of Food Technology or Product Development (applied sciences or university degree). This means you know the ins and outs of food technology and have a passion for ingredient functionality;

  • Fluency in English is required and Dutch strongly preferred to ensure you can work effectively with our diverse team and our producers.

Commercial Entrepreneur Intern

Immerse yourself in all commercial aspect of a sustainable food start up

Your role will focus on supporting in: 

  • Supporting in expanding our customer base by proactively identifying potential new customers as well as providing follow up to customers that have expressed interest in our products; 
  • Exceeding expectations of our existing customers by building strong relationships and supporting them in the wide variety of requests they have on our products (samples, …etc). 
  • Managing the logistics and finance coming from our existing sales of our Brewlicious portfolio.

Your profile: 

  • A third or fourth year Bachelor student Economics / Commerce / Retail Management at either polytechnic (HBO) or university level; 
  • Fluency in English is required to ensure that you can work effectively with our diverse team. 

Product Development Food Intern

Creating better understanding of functionality of beer grain and supporting in expanding the beer grain-based products.

Your graduation research will be an integral part of your internship at us. So next to performing your research/ writing your thesis, your role will focus on supporting in:

  • Understanding functional properties and ingredient interactions related to beer grain;
  • Designing and testing beer grain-based products to be produced at scale, e.g. fresh bread, cereal bars and pasta;
  • Staying in close contact with industrial producers of the products you have designed, to understand their findings and concerns with our beer grain;
  • Looking for opportunities to expand our product portfolio based on the properties of the beer grain.  

Your profile:

  • A MSc or final year BSc student food technology (HBO of WO voedingsmiddelentechnologie). This means you know the ins and outs of food technology and have a passion for ingredient functionality;
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required to ensure you can work effectively with our diverse team.

Graphic Design Intern

Translating our social media/marketing strategy into a visual portfolio that we can use on our online (website and social media) and offline channels.

Your role will focus on supporting in:

  • Creating visual content for our online channels (social media and website); (professional) photos, illustrations, data visualizations, etc. Creating videos would even be a plus;
  • Design our packaging based on the Brewlicious brand book;
  • Create offline communication tools; flyers, leaflet, etc;
  • Next to creating visual content, you’re of course part of the team that will be working on the marketing campaigns that we’ll be running where you’re invited to share your views and insights!

Your profile:

  • Second/third year BSc student Business / Marketing/ Management (HBO – meeloopstage);
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required to ensure you can work effectively with our diverse team;
  • Sound knowledge of and experience with the different social media platforms so you can immediately hit the ground running with creating content.

Quality & Food Safety intern 

Supporting in our quality journey, as the quality of our products is the key for our success.

Your graduation research will be an integral part of your internship at us. So next to performing your research/ writing your thesis, your role will focus on supporting in:

  • Extending the HACCP system for current production method and set up of the HACCP system for the future factory;
  • Research into CCP’s and especially the monitoring and control measures;
  • Continuing the development of the pre requisite programmes according to certification requirements;
  • Supporting in our Quality Assurance activities; 
  • Working in close collaboration with your colleagues at MaGie Creations and external stakeholders to ensure the quality system is embedded in everyone’s day-to-day work (where relevant);
  • Looking for opportunities to further improve our quality standards.

Your profile:

  • a MSc or final year BSc student Food Safety and Quality management (educational level either HBO or WO). This means you know the ins and outs of food quality management and have a passion for food safety;   
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required to ensure you can work effectively with our diverse team.  

    Biochemical Innovation Intern

    Enzymatic conversion of brewers’ spent grains (BSG). (Keep Food Simple in collaboration with MaGie Creations)

    You will be supervised by Fons Voragen from Keep Food Simple. You will focus your research on improving the nutritional value and technological functionality of brewers’ spent grains through enzymatic degradation by:

    • Assessing existing and future opportunities for enzymatic conversion of brewers’ spent grain;
    • Performing laboratory research aimed at defining conditions for making test samples in pilot plant conditions;
    • Chemically characterizing the test samples and assess their effects on the microbiome
    • Identifying potential food applications where the outputs could be used in.

    Your profile:

    • A final year MSc student Biotechnology/Chemical engineering/Food Chemistry with an interest in biochemistry within an industrial setting.
    • Fluency in English is required to ensure that you can work effectively with our diverse teams.
